An Open Window

War has broken out, and Hamid, a young boy, is trapped in his home with his family. He has no friends, no games, no school to go to. He sleeps in his father’s painting studio. He paints a window, an opening to his imagination of how he would like the world to be—winner of the “Arab Children’s Book Publisher Forum” award, 2017.
